As it turned out, the other carrier DECLINED Mr. Clancy as a result of a face-to-face interview. Luckily for him, our carrier accepted him because they didn't do a face-to-face interview (his age didn't warrant it). So when we delivered the policy about six weeks later, we were happy to let them know that they were both accepted.
In the mean time, Mr. & Mrs. Clancy had discussed the matter with their kids and the kids convinced them that they didn't need long term care insurance and that they would take care of their parents. So against our best advice, they declined the policy even after we explained the ramifications.
Spring turned to summer, summer turned to fall and about six months went by when we got a phone call from Mrs. Clancy ...
