Description:
An ELDERS list has been set up at St. John's University in New York developed for the creation of projects, for discussion of social and political issues, finding new friends and for elders to act as electronic grandparents and elder mentors.
St. John's University is the home of a series of lists devoted to education for everyone.
Our membership consists of elders - those over 55 years of age - from a wide range of backgrounds, but with a common purpose - a place where knowledgeable people can reach others and where anyone with questions can write for relevant information.

Description:
AGESMART is a forum for exchanging ideas, methods, and information about incorporating positive and sensible approaches to aging into the lives of those who are nearing or who have reached that half century mark!
Our objectives are to:
- help participants focus on the positive and productive aspects of aging
- assist in the improvement of mind, body and spirit as one ages
- encourage constructive, entertaining discussion, advice, information and anecdotes of interest to participants
- motivate list members to make positive changes in their lives, so that these changes will have a significant and beneficial effect, whether physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual or social.
We hope dialogue will be entertaining, energizing, and effervescent and wit and wisdom will be appreciated. We encourage sound, sagacious suggestions which will help us achieve satisfying middle and fulfilling senior years.
Anyone prone to thinking she or he is "over the hill" is urged to take part. Professionals working and interacting with older adults are welcome to participate and to contribute their suggestions.
